How To Choose A-Sub Sublimation Paper Between 105g, 120g And 125g? - A-SUB

The meaning ofย the numbers, 105g,ย 120g and 125g

The numbers 105g, 120g, and 125gย reflect the weight of the paperย per square meter (in grams) (before cutting).ย After being cut into a size suitableย for retail packaging. For example:

8.5 X 11 size paper, the differenceย between the three options of 105g,ย 120g and 125g. is the weight.ย And because the dimensions areย exactly the same, the difference liesย in the thickness of the paper.

What caused it to thicken?

Theย change inย thicknessย isย relatedย toย the paperย itselfย andย the amount ofย sublimationย coating.ย Thickerย coating,ย moreย saturatedย sublimationย paperย canย moreย effectivelyย dealย withย theย saturationย ofย thick ink.ย Theย thinnerย sublimationย paperย isย veryย suitableย forย yourย light-colored inkย saturationย needs.

Designs suitable forย different weights

A-Sub 105g๏ผšBest for designs with light toย medium ink saturation.

A-Sub 120g๏ผšMost suitable for medium toย light saturation ink design

A-Sub 125g๏ผšBest for printing designs withย very high ink saturation

Howย toย tell if you are using theย correct sublimation paper?

If your work is going well and yourย design is clear, then you must have the
right paper.ย However, if any of theย following problems occur,ย try to replace the paper as follows:
  • My paper always curls-try to increase the weight. If you use 105g, increase to 120g,ย if you use 120g, increase to 125g.
  • My papers always have wheel marks-go in theopposite direction. Ifย you are usingย 105ย grams, increase toย 120 grams. Ifย you are using 120 orย 125 grams, please switch to 105 grams.ย If the problem persists, clean your printer thoroughly.
  • Variable saturation design: If you often print a designthat includes both lightย ink saturation and heavy ink saturation,ย please keep it in the middle of 120 grams. If you use 105g,ย the heavy part of the design may move, bleed or double-image.
  • My hard/rigid blank is ghosting: The ink has nowhere togo,ย and there may be too much to deal with.ย Go toย the lowest grammage.
  • My T-shirt looks faded, but all the ink is transferred, thegrammage has increased because it accepts more inks.
